SIRCH Hike for Hospice

Peter Mansbridge, Honourary Chair of the National Hike for Hospice stated, “I am in awe of the extraordinary care, compassion and understanding provided by the hospice palliative care community.  I will never forget the incredible kindness and care that was given to my mother.”

Providing support for those who are seriously ill, dying or bereaved makes all the difference to those involved in the journey.  In Haliburton County, SIRCH’s Community Hospice Program provides individuals with a serious/palliative illness, and their caregivers, with support and practical assistance, provided by trained volunteers.  About $30,000 must be raised annually to sustain the program.

The responsibility of caring for someone with a life limiting illness is one that needs to be shared collectively within our community.  Together we can all make a difference in the lives of those living with a life limiting illness and those affected by it.

REMEMBER: 100% of the FUNDS RAISED STAYS in HALIBURTON COUNTY!

Mark your calendars for the next Hike for Hospice, the date is April 28, 2012.
