Families with Young Children

The Wednesday CAPC Group

Parents with young children, 6 or under, meet weekly in Haliburton.  The focus is on providing peer support and building parenting skills.  Parents receive information on a variety of topics, learn to cook nutritious food, and are linked with other agencies and supports that can assist them with any issues they may be dealing with (such as finances, addiction, housing, a special needs child, legal issues or violence).  Children’s programming provides young children with stimulating activities designed to increase their developmental skills and build social skills.  Life long friendships have been forged at Wednesday Group which is fast-paced, noisy (in a good way) and fun.

The group is co-facilitated by Point in Time Centre for Children, Youth and Parents.  Transportation is provided, if needed.
