Community Kitchen

A large roster of volunteers gather every other week at the Haliburton United Church kitchen. There they make 40 to 50 nutritious, tasty meals from food largely donated by local businesses. Those meals are provided to low-income families, seniors and others in the community who cannot afford to eat healthy or sufficient food. At special times of the year, volunteers will create hampers or holiday dinners.

SIRCH is also excited to announce that the Community Kitchen has now opened in Minden, it will run twice a month at the Community Centre. It is funded by the Healthy
Community Fund. Anyone interested in volunteering please contact Daniela Pagliaro at 705-457-1742 ext. 31.

Community Kitchen

“Many people who have benefited from programs at SIRCH have “given back” by donating their time and energy at Community Kitchen. It’s a great place to be – cooking, talking, having fun and making a difference.”
