Pre & Post Natal

Special Delivery Club

Canada Prenatal Nutrition Program (CPNP)

Pregnant women and new moms meet as a group once a week on Friday mornings to talk, listen to guest speakers, and get up-to-date information and lots of support around pregnancy, birth, breast feeding, nutrition, growth and development  and parenting. A nutritious meal is provided, and group members are able to access free milk, fresh vegetables, additional food and prenatal vitamins. It’s a busy, fun, positive place to be!

The Special Delivery Club is co-facilitated by the Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit and SIRCH. The Group is located at the United Church in Haliburton.  Transportation is provided, if needed, and qualified child care providers look after the babies, have activities  for younger children such as arts, crafts and story time while the moms  participate in the information session.

Mother to Mother Breastfeeding Support

New moms who want to breastfeed their children can sometimes run into challenges.

The Mother to Mother program matches moms who have successfully breastfed their children (trained as Volunteer Mentors) with women who are breastfeeding and need support.
