Following the success of Cook it Up, a training program offered through SIRCH Community Services, Cook it Up Thursdays was born. The social enterprise offers delicious and healthy meals to the community at minimal cost. Proceeds from the initiative go back into supporting other food programs such as Community Kitchen. The lunches are offered every Thursday at SIRCH Central (2 Victoria Street, Haliburton), and can be enjoyed on site or as a take out option. The menu features dishes from around the globe, including culinary options from Thailand, India, Korean and Mexico.
Aside from providing delicious food, Cook it Up Thursdays also offers participants from past Cook it Up programs to advance their skills and gain additional on site training.
