Individuals with a life-threatening or serious illness receive one-to-one and group support. Caring, trained volunteers give caregivers a break from the rigors of caretaking, provide support to the individual with the illness, and provide all family members with helpful information. Volunteers can help with practical support as well, like giving a drive to the doctor. The Hospice Coordinator will gladly assist with a referrals to another organization or professional if needed to help the family cope during this difficult time. To quote Dr. Cicely Saunders, pioneer of the modern Hospice movement, “You matter because you are you. You matter up to the last moment of your life, and we will do all we can, not only to help you die peacefully, but also to live until you die.”
Family members receive bereavement support to help them cope with the loss of their loved one.
